The Distillers’ Collection Brand Ambassador is a full time position dedicated to brand building, education, trade/consumer engagement and commercial conversion in the On-Premise on behalf of Pernod Ricard USA’s Single Pot Still Whiskey and Single Malt Scotch portfolios. The Brand Ambassador will focus on forming essential partnerships with Industry influencers and leverage existing relationships on behalf of their brands, and will act as an expert in trade affinity, outreach and mixology. This is a commercial role that will serve to increase brand awareness amongst trade; drive menu placements, depletions and velocity; lead staff trainings, support sales teams and feature brands at industry events. This is a hybrid of sales and trade advocacy, and plays a crucial role in elevating the organization as an on-premise industry leader for the brand categories.

Major Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Trade Engagement and Commercial Responsibilities in the On-Premise
    • Collaborate with local PRUSA Market Activation Managers, Market Managers, and distributor partners to drive sales, in-market account planning and activation
    • Assist in Brand and Seasonal Programming
    • Identify volume opportunity accounts and drive new points of distribution
    • Expand on-premise presence for strategic brands
    • Establish a network of key trade and trade groups, and act as in-market liaison.
    • Serve as product knowledge expert for Premium Single Malt Scotches and Single Pot Still Irish Whiskeys
    • Educate trade, brand and distributor partners on Single Malt Scotches and Single Pot Still Irish Whiskeys
    • Include mixology as medium to reinforce brand message and quality
    • Grow relationships, build goodwill, and drive commercial conversion in core set of target accounts
    • Assist in cocktail and menu development as requested
    • Serve as a market expert with knowledge of commercial and cultural trends in the marketplace
  • Events 
    • Act as host and support trade shows/whiskey dinners as required
    • Assist in planning and execution of key local and ad hoc events
    • Support large scale trade events and national initiatives
  • Reporting
    • Provide weekly pre-plans of intended activity
    • Provide monthly recap of all activities
    • KPI monitoring
    • Commercial account development reporting sales and depletions
    • Report menu placements
    • Report market trends within on-premise community
    • Proactive communication with local market and distributor partners
    • Increase Brand visibility through social media channels

Experience, Qualifications, and Skills Required

  • Education:  Bachelor’s degree preferred (preferably in marketing, communications, or related backgrounds).
  • Bartending or mixology background
  • Scotch and Irish whiskey category knowledge
  • Sales and on premise channel experience is required
  • Distributor knowledge is preferred
