Duties and Responsibilities
- Agile Champion: Ensures the Scrum team adheres to Scrum principles, practices, and rules. Think of them as the guardian of the Scrum framework.
- Servant Leader: Focuses on the needs of the team, fostering a collaborative environment where everyone thrives. They don't directly manage tasks or dictate solutions.
- Facilitator: Leads Scrum ceremonies like sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives. They ensure clear communication and keep discussions focused.
- Problem-Solver: Identifies and removes roadblocks hindering the team's progress. They actively seek solutions to keep the project moving smoothly.
- Coach: Provides guidance and support to team members, helping them improve their use of Scrum practices and become more effective.
- Bridge Builder: Creates a buffer between the Scrum team and external stakeholders, ensuring their interactions are helpful and don't disrupt the team's workflow.
Required education, certifications and experience
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are key to facilitating discussions, conveying information clearly, and fostering a collaborative environment.
- Leadership: Leadership through inspiration and guidance, empowering the team to self-organize and make decisions.
- Coaching: Ability to identify areas for improvement and provide constructive feedback to help team members grow.
- Problem-Solving: Analytical thinking and strong problem-solving skills to identify and address roadblocks that hinder the team's progress.
- Agile Knowledge: Thorough understanding of Scrum principles, practices, and ceremonies. Familiarity with other Agile methodologies can also be beneficial.
