Our learning pathways combine practical, in-person training with modern online tools so you can learn in ways that fit you best. We tailor the content and format to meet the needs of various roles at Kal Tire, in-person, virtual, hands-on, and self-paced e-learning modules.

Safety Training

Kal Tire understands that the strength of our company comes from our team members. All team members have the right to work in a safe and healthy environment. Our commitment is to provide a safe environment for all team members, contractors, visitors, and customers at our locations.
 
Kal Tire’s Health and Safety Management System has been developed to provide the guidance, systems, and tools to deliver a safe and healthy workplace. The contents apply to all aspects of Kal Tire’s operations and facilities, team members, and to any activities or tasks performed on behalf of Kal Tire.
 
New team members must complete the General Health and Safety Orientation prior to commencing job duties. This orientation familiarizes new team members with the Kal Tire safety policy and an overview of Kal Tire’s health and safety requirements. 
 
Safety training never stops. Learning plans for team members include courses such as Hazard Assessment, Lockout/Tagout, WHMIS, Fire Safety & Prevention, and more. Managers advance safety leadership with courses such as Tiered Leadership Inspections, Incident Reporting, Investigation and Disability Management and more.  

Mentorship and Hands-On Training

Learning from experienced team members is an important part of what we do. Our Training Mentor Program connects experienced team members with new hires to support them with on-the-job learning. With more than 600 qualified mentors in our stores, new team members receive real-time coaching, feedback, and support to build confidence and skill.
 
Mentors complete a training program and ongoing development to maintain their qualifications, ensuring they deliver consistent, high-quality training. During each tire changeover season, our Kal Tire mentors lead more than500 in-store training sessions that help our passenger light truck (PLT) technicians advance their skills.

Apprenticeship and Technical Development

If you’re interested in a career in the trades, Kal Tire’s Apprenticeship Program provides paid training and the chance to become a certified mechanic. Through partnerships with leading post-secondary institutions such as BCIT, SAIT, and Centennial College, you can progress through our Tire, Brake, and Alignment (TBA) Program to achieve your Red Seal certification.
 
These partnerships give our team members formal education, industry-recognized credentials, and the foundation for lifelong automotive service careers here at Kal Tire.

Leadership Development

At Kal Tire, we grow leaders from within. Our Stores Career [MR1.1]Management Training Program prepares future assistant store managers, store managers, and zone managers to lead high-performing teams.
 
The program is delivered in person at regional training locations, giving leaders the chance to build relationships, share experiences, and create a strong peer network. In 2025 alone, 73 team members completed the management training for store management roles and 26 for assistant manager roles. We are proud to fill 66% of all management roles with internal team members.
 
For those looking to take the next step, our leadership training covers business operations, safety leadership, customer service, and people management, ensuring every Kal Tire leader is equipped to guide their team’s success.
 
Developing leaders is an ongoing priority for Kal Tire and we are continuously looking to build new training and resources for our team members.

Continuous Learning Opportunities

We make learning accessible to everyone through an online learning platform, offering thousands of on-demand courses in leadership, technology, safety, and more.
 
Team members and their leaders also take part in our Performance and Development Process (PDP), where they set annual learning goals and map out long-term career plans.
