Media Planning
Media Planners are responsible for creating the plan for when is best to broadcast, or post, an advertisement. Media Planning roles identify strategies to ensure the right environment and right cost are delivered, while keeping in mind the campaign's overall requirements.
An analytical mind is an advantage, as you'll often need to use and interpret complex data and statistics.
Media Buying
Media Buyers manage negotiations, placing their clients' advertising campaigns, and monitoring their performance to ensure strategic objectives are met. This role requires strong relationships with media owners.
Good communication and negotiation skills are also a must. Feeling comfortable dealing with data, research and statistics is an advantage too.
Data & Analytics
Whoever thought maths and media could be so dependent on one another? Data Analyst have some of the most in-demand skill sets. They collect and analyse data to fully understand a client's consumers - and how to make campaigns work better to maximise return on marketing investment.
If you have good attention to detail, a logical mentality and like turning processes into easy-to-understand insights, then this discipline is for you!
Search Marketing
Search Engine Marketing (SEM) is the use of Pay-Per-Click (PPC) advertisements on Search Engines in order to get your clients' brand noticed. Using Google AdWords, relevant keywords and search data, search marketers make sure that their clients' campaigns are working as effectively as possible.
It is fair to say a job in search marketing is quite data driven- so it's ideal if you like your numbers and Excel! Good copywriting skills can also be an advantage, as a well-written set of ads can make all the difference.
Search Engine Optimisation
If you want to write engaging content to ensure your client ranks highest on Search Engines, then this is the area for you! Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), or Natural Search roles promote website copy and code to help clients' websites appear in prominent positions in Search Engine listings. A good understanding of programming landscape like HTML and CSS is definitely an advantage in SEO.
This role involves writing copy and improving the usability of a website from a consumer's point of view- so any experience with blogging, or website design and build will be useful!
