The leadership of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) has decided to postpone NSBE’s 46th Annual Convention until a later date this year. This decision was made because of the increased concerns about the novel coronavirus known as COVID-19. The Annual Convention was scheduled to take place in San Antonio, Texas, from March 25–29, 2020. Read more on their website here.

“About a week before NSBE Conference, I saw an SE job posted on LinkedIn. I submitted my resume and within a couple days, I had an interview set up with them at the conference. I did my interview at the NSBE conference followed by a phone interview and then received my offer.
Before this, I didn't know much about SE or what they did. Their Sales Development Program (SDP) really peaked my interest as it seemed like a job that would focus on my training and development and increase my chances of success in future roles.
As I did more research on SE, I became even more impressed with how innovative and successful the company is. Now that I'm here, I'm happy to say I made a great choice as this is an excellent company with a lot of great people, great company culture, and interesting work.
I recently finished SDP, and I started my role as an Inside Sales Engineer. SDP allowed me to network with other professionals and gain a ton of exposure in other sides of the business.”
Herman Santos is a University of California San Diego Graduate and currently an Inside Sales Engineer.
