At UMass Memorial Health, we consider our caregivers to be our most valuable asset. For us to become the best place to give care and the best place to get care, we are always looking for talented, respectful caregivers, and you can help. Research has shown that new hires who come into an organization through caregiver referrals are excellent contributors and stay with the organization longer. That's where you come in! If you know someone who would be a good addition to the UMass Memorial Health team, refer them! You'll receive a $500 referral bonus if you refer an external candidate and they are hired. If this candidate is hired for any of the positions listed below, you'll receive the amount referenced.

$10,000 Prize Drawing!

• For every referral that is hired, the referring caregiver will be entered into a drawing for a $10,000 prize.
• The first prize drawing will take place on December 22, 2021.
  • December Drawing: Referrals of caregivers hired from June 1 to November 30, 2021.

Positions Eligible for Referral Bonus

To be eligible for a referral bonus, a current caregiver must refer an external candidate to the talent acquisition team for a budgeted role, per diem positions are not included in this program. All reference materials and job aides can be found on the Hub. Search for Caregiver Referral Program.

Caregivers have three options to refer candidates to ensure they are listed as the referral source:

• Complete the paper Referral Form and submit to your current manager. The manager will email the talent acquisition team at [email protected]. You can find this form on the Hub, by searching Referral Form.

• Refer a Friend (when you have a specific person and a specific open position in mind). You can find detailed instructions on the Hub, by searching Caregiver Referral Program

• Send a Jobvite (send a link so that your referral can apply or share the opening through social media on LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter) You can find detailed instructions on the Hub, by searching Caregiver Referral Program. 

Who Can Participate

• Current UMass Memorial Health caregivers may participate in the referral program.

Please note the following caregivers are excluded from participating in the program:

• UMass Memorial Health leadership team (managers and above who have direct reports)

• UMass Memorial Health Human Resources caregivers

• Temporary or contract resources on assignment at UMass Memorial Health

Bonus Payment Information

• All referral bonuses will be paid 90 days after the referred caregiver's first day of employment at UMass Memorial Health and will be subject to taxes.

• Both the referring and the referred caregivers must be in good standing and actively employed at the time of bonus payment.

• The first caregiver to refer a candidate will be the only referring caregiver eligible for payment.

• Any disputes or interpretations of this caregiver referral program will be handled through the talent acquisition team.
