Walpole Co-operative Bank is seeking an experienced Loan Servicing Specialist to provide administrative support for all commercial and construction loan products, along with servicing support of new and existing residential loan types, including equity credit lines.  This position will also be responsible for the accurate maintenance and servicing of all loan files and for providing efficient and courteous customer service to borrowers. 

  

Loan Servicing Specialist III Qualifications and Skills  

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 3 – 5 years of loan operations and servicing experience, or relative equivalent experience
  • In-depth knowledge of daily loan operations functions
  • Effective problem solving and resolution skills
  • High level of accuracy and detail-orientation
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize workflow
  • Attention to detail with strong organizational skills
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook, experience with Fiserv Premier banking platform strongly desired
  • Maintain updated knowledge regarding bank products, compliance and lending regulations and policies

Loan Servicing Specialist III Job Responsibilities  

  • Prepare and maintain commercial and construction loan files through file set up, pre-closing and post-closing review
  • Input loan data and manage on-going system maintenance for commercial and residential loans and all required documents  
  • Provide efficient and effective administrative support to lending staff and the Bank’s loan portfolio through handling construction, commercial and residential loan advances, construction inspection scheduling and inspection reviews, tracking Purchase & Sale Agreements, processing loan payoffs and preparing mortgage discharges and partial releases
  • Prepare and collect documents for UCC/Insurance requirements, tax servicing and escrow requirements, reports, and communications to ensure Bank coverage and regulatory compliance
  • Track financial data needs for credit files and provide effective communication with officers and customers to obtain needed file information
  • Provide support for additional responsibilities including consumer collections, flood insurance, PMI, quarterly reporting for FHLBB, quarterly disbursement of real estate tax escrow payments, annual tax escrow analysis and report writing using Business Analytics and FISERV
  • Research and resolve complex system processing issues and errors
  • Identify potential loans eligible to pledge to FHLBB
  • Provide administration support for coordinating loan disbursements and preparation of mortgage and UCC discharges, processing general ledger transactions, preparation of correspondence and reports, monitoring collection of fees and payoffs
  • Provide courteous and accurate customer service for commercial borrowers, including answering questions and resolving service problems, processing transactions, and obtaining necessary file documents
  • Respond to all telephone inquiries promptly and courteously; ensure that any customer issues are handled in an efficient and timely manner including follow up to ensure that customers are satisfied with resolution and service
