We have a team of skilled and focused recruiters that are dedicated to finding talent who will help deliver on our common purpose—to save lives by improving patient care.
Naturally, the recruiter and candidate relationship may feel a little one sided with candidates submitting their resumes, answering questions, and giving detailed accounts of their professional history without knowing much, if anything, about the recruiter. This uneven dynamic may lead to uncomfortable or unnatural interactions, which may ultimately affect the outcome of an interview.
This is why we’re kicking off a Meet the Recruiters series, allowing candidates to learn more about their first points of contact when they apply to work at NeoGenomics. Read their own words and start building a connection on a personal level.
Next up is Heather Carter, Talent Engagement Specialist.
How long have you worked at NeoGenomics, and what brought you here?
I’ve just finished my 6th week on the Human Resources team at NeoGenomics after spending more than 15 years in higher education. I lost my mom to cancer in April of this year, so the strong alignment of NeoGenomics’ mission—to save lives by improving patient care—are what led me here.
What stands out to you most when talking to candidates?
What stands out to me the most when talking to candidates is the diversity of their thoughts, backgrounds, and perspectives.
What advice do you have to anyone thinking about applying to NeoGenomics?
My best advice to anyone wanting to work at NeoGenomics is to research and reflect. When you come in for an interview, have an understanding of who we are and what we do, and be able to explain how your experiences will contribute to our future.
What do you love about working at NeoGenomics?
I love the people at NeoGenomics and the impact that we all have on the cancer community—past, present, and future. AND I love that my dad lives 0.5 miles from the office—I know my mom likes knowing I get to see him almost every day!
