Meet the Recruiters: Ina
A note from Brandy Lai, Director of Talent Engagement at NeoGenomics: At NeoGenomics, we strive to communicate openly to engage talent and to foster an innovative and collaborative culture. We have a team of skilled and focused recruiters that are dedicated to finding talent who will help deliver on our common purpose—to save lives by improving patient care.
Naturally, the recruiter and candidate relationship may feel a little one sided with candidates submitting their resumes, answering questions, and giving detailed accounts of their professional history without knowing much, if anything, about the recruiter. This uneven dynamic may lead to uncomfortable or unnatural interactions, which may ultimately affect the outcome of an interview.
This is why we’re kicking off a Meet the Recruiters series, allowing candidates to learn more about their first points of contact when they apply to work at NeoGenomics. Read their own words and start building a connection on a personal level.
Next up is Ina Chase, Talent Engagement Specialist.
How long have you worked at NeoGenomics, and what brought you here?
I have been with NeoGenomics since the beginning of September. I am local to southwest Florida and have always heard great things about the organization. After 8 years of recruiting in the retail industry, I decided I needed a change. I was interested in joining an organization where my work makes a difference in people’s lives and who better than NeoGenomics.
What stands out to you most when talking to candidates?
One thing that stands out the most to me when talking to candidates is their passion for the work they perform. Individuals that have a passion for what they do tend to be successful when partnered with an organization that cultivates and rewards such passion.
What advice do you have to anyone thinking about applying to NeoGenomics?
My advice for anyone looking to join Neo is to do their research. Connect with Neo employees, follow our social media, do your homework prior to your interview. The more educated you are about a potential employer, the better you stand out in the interview process. An interview is your chance to shine.
What do you love about working at NeoGenomics?
There are many things I love about working at Neo. The company culture is what initially attracted me to join the organization but now that I am here, I love the ability to contribute to the bigger picture of saving lives. I love working for a growing organization and I am honored that recruiting is at the forefront of this growth. Here at Neo we’re one big family. Everyone lends a helping hand and supports each other. I like being able to end the week feeling productive and proud of my work.
