How My Internship Turned Into a Career at NeoGenomics

Students and recent college graduates may find themselves out of the running for jobs when going up against seasoned candidates with more experience, knowledge, and years in the field. Not only can this be frustrating and disheartening, but it also leaves students and recent grads without a real chance to excel or demonstrate their skills.

At NeoGenomics, we understand this and that’s why we make it possible for students and recent grads entering the workforce to join our ranks. Lacey, now a Human Resources Generalist, joined our team as a college intern, quickly moving to a Human Resources Coordinator before earning her current position.

Lacey was initially drawn to Neo because of the opportunity, room for growth, and to be a part of something that matters in the community. Once here, she quickly realized how Neo’s culture sets it apart from other employers.

“The culture here is amazing; it’s absolutely wonderful. Everyone is very welcoming, which is really good to get to know everyone, and there’s no disconnect between departments here.”

Also appealing to Lacey were the benefits, specifically Neo’s educational assistance program. “

We do offer some educational assistance programs, so we partner with online universities to get people back into school or to help them finish school…I’ve heard from managers that we want that young talent because we want to be able to train them, we want to help them, we want to grow them. They really worked with my school hours so that I was able to continue my education and go to school while still having a job there.”
