Work with a Cause: How NeoGenomics Gives Back to its Communities

May 2020

At NeoGenomics, we are committed to making a difference though our Common Purpose, saving lives by improving patient care. This, however, isn’t limited to the lab; not only do we provide uncompromising quality and exceptional service to our clients and patients on a daily basis, we also support various charitable organizations and participate in a number of community engagements and fundraising opportunities. Through these initiatives, Neo is able to reach further than ever before, as well as provide more ways for team members to connect with their communities and each other.

Read on about some of the many ways that we care about our communities.

Career Fairs & Partnerships: In California and Florida, we have attended numerous career fairs at collegiate and community levels to further engage with candidates from all disciplines. We have also partnered with national organizations, such as the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS), to attract top talent for our many career opportunities.

Girl Scouts of America: Through the efforts of Neo’s Women@ ERG (employee resource group), we were able to host Discover Clinical Lab Sciences Day in Fort Myers and My STEM Life in Aliso Viejo for 100+ Girl Scouts and Cadette Scouts.

Resume Workshops: At the Career Source of Southwest Florida, members of the recruiting team have presented on tips for resume writing and job interviewing. They have also hosted mock interviews for a group of veterans, women, & disabled members of the community.

Cancer Awareness: Every October, NeoGenomics partners with Making Strides Against Breast Cancer for the American Cancer Society. During this month, we honor our breast cancer fighters, survivors, and caretakers through social posts on NeoApp, wearing pink, and donations through personal and group initiatives. We have also supported other cancer organizations like Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Movember, and Cancer Zero through fundraising efforts and campaigns.

Toy and Food Drives: During the summer and holiday season, we have donated non‐perishable food items and children’s toys to local organizations that support families & kids in our communities.

Hiring Our Heroes: NeoGenomics continues to have great success partnering with the Hiring Our Heroes (HOH) U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation to provide fellowship programs for transitioning active duty military service men and women. We have recently welcomed Ambrose Pantoja, Business Systems Analyst, as our second permanent hire from the program. We have been honored to support five fellowships thus far and we are looking forward to our third cohort group starting in late May! In addition to our Aliso Viejo & Carlsbad sites, HOH fellows are now being considered for all locations.
