NeoGenomics offers clinical science training programs for individuals looking to become nationally certified through American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP). We have training programs centered around Cytogenetics and FISH, Molecular, or Histology.
Our two-year programs are fully funded by NeoGenomics and allow team members to train on the job for one year and sit for the corresponding ASCP Board of Certification (BOC) exam followed by eligibility for CA and FL state licensure. After obtaining certification and state licensure, the program continues with a one-year commitment as a full-time technologist or histotechnologist.
At NeoGenomics, we strive to provide all team members with opportunities for advancement and personal growth. In addition to our Clinical Science Training Programs, we offer personalized professional development for every team member, tuition reimbursement, continuing education, and more.
To enter one of our training programs, it is required that you hold a Bachelor’s degree in a life or physical science field (only Associate degree needed for Histology), and you must be eligible for a FL/CA Trainee license. If you’re interested in applying, get started today!
“There is always an opportunity to learn something new in this career and I feel very lucky to have had great mentors throughout the past year. Advice I would give newcomers , Invest in yourself, it pays the best interest :)”
– Michelle W., Cytogenetic Technologist Trainee
"I’ve always been passionate about cancer and genetics which is what drew me to Neo and the training program in the first place. The program opened my eyes to the science behind cyto and FISH, and taught me the “whys” behind what we do in the wet lab. I’m able to analyze and problem solve better while I work. The program overall made me a better scientist working in such a complex field."
- Alayna R., Clinical Laboratory Technologist - Trainee
"I would say that the program was why I chose to work for NEO in the first place. It provided an amazing opportunity for both professional and personal growth. The other option for getting a license in this field was going back to school, which is expensive and doesn't pay anything, so the in house program at NEO was beneficial in so many ways. While the program was challenging, completing it and passing the ASCP exam with my colleagues created a close bond that would be hard to replicate in other scenarios. I am grateful for having completed the journey and seeing where this license will take me."
- Spencer B., Clinical Laboratory Technologist - Trainee
